Fehmi Koru is one of the most popular and richest Journalist who was born on July 24, 1950 in İzmir, Turkey. As a consultant for an advisory role in the State Planning Organisation (1985-1986).

He then joined in daily Yeni Şafak as Ankara Bureau Chief (1999) and was also its chief columnist until 2010. He later joined daily Star (2011- 2014).

He was the recipient of several prestigious press awards including one from Turkish Journalists Association (2003) and another from Progressive Journalists Association of Turkey (2003).

He was director of the weekly Milli Gazete (1984) and was employed at the daily Zaman from the beginning (1986) at first as editor in chief (1986-1987) and later as the chief editor and Ankara Bureau Chief (1995-1998). He wrote for the Turkish Daily News’ (1999-2000), and The New Anatolian (2006) The New Anatolian (2006); both are English languages dailies.

He also served as an associate researcher in the Center for International Studies of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1980-1982).

He was a regular commentator on Turkish TV Kanal-7 (1995-2015).
